Some time ago, Nihom Falcom promised players new updates for Ys IX: Monstrum Nox, the new installment on the popular franchise. The developers stayed true to their word and showed a few new gameplay aspects. This revelation came with the Dengeki Game Festival 2019 in a presentation revealing additional info on the JRPG.
Ys: IX Monstrum Nox Gameplay Revealed
Verticality is a very important theme in Ys IX: Monstrum Nox. In fact, Nihom has stated that this aspect will take precedence over other game features. For starters, maps will have three-dimensional maps with different elevation levels. Furthermore, players will be able to literally run up at any wall in the game.
Additionally, the game will use the series traditional party system. Furthermore, players will be able to switch between party members during fights. Of course, players who are new to the franchise or don’t fare well with action games will have nothing to worry about. Ys IX: Monstrum Nox has a simple action system which will be accessible for all players.
Now that players can walk up any wall; Falcom also revealed that it will be possible to travel almost anywhere within the distance. As such, a higher degree of freedom is guaranteed for the game’s players. Furthermore, 40 to 50% of the game will be the main city in which the game will take place.
