You read that right, there will be a Square Enix E3 2019 Press Conference this year. On Monday, June 10, 2019, Square Enix will be holding a livestream right from Los Angeles, CA. The livestream will feature “an exciting line up of titles” when it goes live at 6 pm PT that day. This is a nice surprise since it’s been a while for the Japanese publisher.
The Square Enix E3 2019 Press Conference was announced on the official Twitter account. The time slot that the company chose is around the time that Sony normally holds its own press conference. But with Sony not doing that this time around, it’s great to know that Square Enix will be filling in the gap. So, what can we expect to see there?
Well, the early access and full release of Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers is a couple of weeks later so we are likely to get a new trailer then. In addition, there are several Square games still coming this year like Dragon Quest 11 Switch (though Nintendo is publishing it) and Dragon Quest Builders 2. But both of those games are already in Japan. There is Oninaki that’s new but that’s pretty much it.
So, in terms of new announcements and/or reveals, there are two big names that immediately come to mind: Avengers and Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Since there will be a Square Enix E3 2019 Press Conference, we suspect that the company is arriving with some big games. These two fit the bill perfectly so we absolutely expect both to be there in some way.
Could we get a Final Fantasy XVI announcement since 15 is now done for good? Maybe smaller announcements of more Final Fantasy remasters like the 13 trilogy? Only time will tell since we have so few details about what’s going to happen at this press conference. For all your E3 needs, be sure to keep it locked right here at VGR.
