Spyro Reignited Trilogy Will Only Have the First Game on Physical Copies
Fans of physical media should beware as the Spyro Reignited Trilogy will only have the first game, Spyro the Dragon, actually located on the disc. This means that when you pop the disc into your Xbox One or PS4 console of choice, you will only be able to immediately play Spyro the Dragon. So what about the other two games?
Well, in order to have access to all three games in the Spyro Reignited Trilogy you purchased, you will be required to have an internet connection so you can download the other two online on your system. Though this isn’t exactly the first game to do something like this, it is very surprising given that the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy had all three games on one disc with no internet downloads required. They did require an installation but that doesn’t need internet.
The Spyro Reignited Trilogy will make you install the first game as well as download the other two, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage! and Spyro: Year of the Dragon, in order to have access to the complete collection. This could be a frustrating situation for someone who actually likes the idea of having all their games on a single disc as you’d expect and even worse for those who has no access to the internet or to an internet connection that is limited.
This news was revealed from the official website where it has been recently updated to note that this is the case. No download sizes have been given yet for any of the games so we will have to wait and see how much space you will need to reserve for the second and third games in the Spyro Reignited Trilogy.
