SNK surprised the entire world when they announced a new installment on the Samurai Shodown series. The game was announced as a PlayStation exclusive when it was announced last year. Fortunately, SNK has recently confirmed that the next entry of Samurai Shodown will actually be available in all platforms and consoles.
Samurai Shodown Available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch
SNK confirmed that Samurai Shodown will actually appear on all platforms. However, the distribution of the game will actually be handled in parts. First, the game will be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at some point during June 2019. Afterwards, Nintendo Switch and PC users will have to wait until some point between October and December of the same year.
For those unaware, Samurai Shodown is being developed on the Unreal Engine 4. This means that the game will bring 3D Graphics while keeping a wide variety of mechanics that defined the series. The game promises new features and characters that have never been seen before. Of course, it also will bring back features like Story mode and Online multiplayer.
The game will actually take place at the end of the 18th century. Chronologically, it’s going to take place after the events on Samurai Shodown V and shortly before the first entry of the series. SNK has also announced that they have plans for post-launch content. More importantly, the game is being developed in-house. As such, fans might be happy with the results in the final product.
