It’s almost needless to point out the amazing comeback Capcom has been making as of late. Monster Hunter: World, Resident Evil 7, and Devil May Cry 5 have returned the prestige to the company. Of course, this also has been reflected on the excellent sales performance that the games have made. Such is the case with Resident Evil 2, which recently broke 1 Million sales on Steam.
Resident Evil 2 Breaks 1 Million Sales on Steam
According to a report made by PCGamesN – with additional estimations by SteamSpy –; Resident Evil 2 has broken 1 Million sales on the Steam platform. This number considers the sales made ever since the game’s debut on January 25. Comparatively, Resident Evil 7 hasn’t broken a million total users ever since the release two years ago.
However, the data isn’t entirely accurate because of the new version of SteamSpy. The new data doesn’t show the exact ownership numbers. However, the new data includes anyone who bought a Steam key for the game, including keys from other sellers. As such, the website knows that Resident Evil 2 is owned by a number between 1 and 2 Million Players.
This marks the third Resident Evil title to ever break 1 million total game sales on the PC gaming platform. The other 2 titles being Resident Evil 5 and 6, which have broken 1 Million lifetime sales. Furthermore, other games like Resident Evil Remake, Revelations 1 & 2 haven’t broken 1 Million sales on their lifetimes.
