Madden 21 Rumors: The Yard Details Leak Hints of What New Mode Brings to Playing Field
There have been Madden 21 rumors swirling for several weeks now with regards to a brand new game mode. It’s called The Yard and will be the latest addition to the game since last year’s Superstar KO. Over the past week, screenshots arrived showing off some of the mode screens, while YouTube gamers have also given hints about the details.
Madden 21 Rumors: The Yard screenshots leaked
Last year, we saw the arrival of Superstar KO mode in Madden 20. It was a quicker version of games in which gamers could compete with friends and against other gamers. You could build teams consisting of not only current NFL stars and past legends, but celebrities including Snoop Dogg, Quavo, and Lil Yachty.
Within the past several weeks there have been some leaked screenshots to give an idea that a new mode The Yard is on the way for Madden. Just like Madden 21 rumors suggested, it could be very similar to NBA 2K’s MyPark. With that mode in the basketball sim, you take your created player to compete in small team games against others on different street courts.
Based on the recent screenshots below, the new mode may bring up comparisons to FIFA’s VOLTA mode. In VOLTA you participate in 3-vs-3 soccer games at street playgrounds around the world. In The Yard, you’re competing “on fields across the globe” solo or with your friends. Gamers will bring their created player into this, which should have them more interested in the new mode.
The additional screens suggest being able to get special gear like jerseys and accessories to “customize your avatar from head-to-toe.” In addition, they mention having specific objectives to complete in The Yard to be able to “build your rep” and get new gear as well as “earn Credit to spend.”
In a video from YouTuber Eric Rayweather, he spoke more about The Yard and what it will include.
So this definitely sounds a lot like NBA 2K’s MyPark and FIFA’s VOLTA or NBA Live’s The Streets, as EA is bringing a similar aspect to their football game. From comments online so far, it seems members of the community are excited to check it out. However, one aspect of the mode could bring some disappointment.
The Yard may bring a major complaint
The Madden 21 rumors about what The Yard will be are just speculation right now. EA has yet to share any details about this game mode on their Twitch channel or social media. All that gamers have to go on are leaks and talk from various YouTubers.
Speaking of that, one recent development that’s surfaced in online chatter appears to be how you’ll be able to play The Yard. While the one screen mentions teaming up with a friend, it doesn’t specify going against friends. That could end up being the major complaint that gamers will have about The Yard.
In NBA 2K’s MyPark, gamers were able to go head-to-head with their friends or community members. That aspect is what makes it so addictive for many people. If The Yard is only playing against CPU that may give gamers more reason to complain, although it appears EA can simply resolve this through future updates. Hopefully, those come for Madden 21 and not as a new part of Madden 22.
Until EA’s team officially unveils the mode, we won’t know, but it certainly looks promising based on the early screens.
