Players who have pre-ordered Fallout 76 for the Xbox One have begun to report that pre-loading for the game’s upcoming beta is now available. As such, many players have begun to pre-load the sizeable beta game files ahead of the event’s start date.
Players Can Start Pre-Loading for the Fallout 76 Beta
The Fallout 76 Beta is due to start on the 23rd of October on the Xbox One. The event will start one week later on the PlayStation 4 and PC. As of today, players are able to start pre-loading the Beta version of the game; five days prior to the event’s actual start. Of course, players won’t actually be able to play the Beta on Xbox One until the 23rd. However, pre-loading the game now could save players plenty of time on the date. Given that the Beta will only be available for between 4-8 hours each day, many fans likely wish to avoid losing out on any potential gameplay time.
The Beta version of Fallout 76 is no quick download either. The full size of the game’s Beta is 45 GB. Today’s revelation that the game is available to pre-load actually contradicts past statements from Bethesda. Three weeks ago, the studio said that; “Currently, the B.E.T.A. will not be available for pre-load”. Whatever the reason, Bethesda appears to have changed their minds. Unlike the Fallout 76 Stress Test, which has recently been running for select players on Xbox One, players will be able to save their progress and carry it over to the full release of Fallout 76.
It’s currently unknown whether the pre-Beta Stress Test event will come to other platforms ahead of the delayed Beta release on PC and PS4. Pete Hines recently suggested that it was a possibility, but implies that the decision will be down to others in the company. Players certainly don’t have long to wait before they get their first proper chance to try out the much-anticipated RPG.
