I don’t like to be biased but Jump Force Yugi has already become one of my favorite characters to play, despite not having played a second of the game, for a very good reason: he gets to summon Yu-Gi-Oh cards to do the fighting for him. So far this seems to only include the Dark Magician, Dark Magician Girl and one of the Egyptian God cards, Slifer the Sky Dragon.
Yugi Mutou was revealed to be joining the Jump Force roster only a week ago, but since then speculation has run rampant on what Yugi’s abilities could be and how they could possibly work when the rest of the Jump Force characters seem to have speed and power to complement their arsenal. While we’re still not 100% sure how Yugi will be working or whether, like Blue Saiyan Goku, he’ll have a Yami Yugi form, we do know that his Yu-Gi-Oh cards play a pivotal role.
This news comes from Bandai Namco’s official Twitter, which showed off Dark Magician Girl, Dark Magician and Slifer the Sky Dragon. Whether Yugi will be restricted to just summoning those three cards hasn’t been confirmed, though considering how large some of the characters are it would make sense if they were the only three to be included.
With rumors of the game releasing early next year, we can’t help but wonder what other characters may be included from the Yu-Gi-Oh series. That said, there have been a number of characters from different franchises such as Hunter x Hunter, Dragon Ball, Bleach, One Piece, and Naruto, so the only question that remains is this: who else is joining the roster?
In other Bandai Namco news, One Piece World Seeker has been delayed to 2019 but has recently received a trailer showing off two new characters, Jeanne and Isaac. Tales of Crestoria, a new mobile game for the Tales of series, has also been announced.
