At long last, E3 2018 brought us more information about the upcoming CD Projekt RED role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077, and we love what we’ve seen so far. We’ve finally been privy to the details we’ve been asking about for some time, at least some of them, and now it’s time to start dissecting them.
There are a few new details that sound quite intriguing, such as the fact that, according to ComicBook, there’s a special stat your character will have that seems a bit baffling: the “cool” stat. This is part of the swath of characteristics you’ll be able to level up in addition to things like strength, dexterity, and intelligence, but the “cool” option sounds like something totally new.
The “cool” stat correlates with your “street cred,” as it seems, and it will affect how you interact with other characters in-game. The way others perceive you will indeed change based on how high or low this stat is, so you can get by with various different responses and actions to situations that you wouldn’t normally be able to otherwise.
This decision was likely based on the fact that the game was taken from a tabletop series in the first place, so it makes sense that it would be included, but right now we don’t have any information on what will raise or lower that stat. It’s likely that dialogue will go a long way to helping you maintain a decent one as you play through the game.
As more details emerge, we’ll make sure you know about them. Right now, unfortunately, we have no idea about when we might be able to expect the game to come out. CD Projekt Red has not given us any sort of proposed release date, and as far as we know, it’ll just be coming out “when it’s ready.”
