Fortnite Could Be Coming To Nintendo Switch

It’s long been rumored that Fortnite could be coming to Nintendo Switch, but until now we hadn’t heard anything even close to confirmation from Nintendo or Epic Games. That could all be changing now, with a leak from the Korean Game Rating Board that appears to confirm a rating for the game on Switch. If this is true, it may very well make every Fortnite player’s day when it comes to fruition. That would mean it’s truly available on every available console, including mobile!

You can view the listing below, where everything is obviously all in Korean, but a translation reads that Fortnite is a game where you “collect resources and build defensive fortresses to stop monsters.” Well, yes, that and several other things too, right? It almost sounds like only the Save the World portion is coming to the handheld, but that likely won’t be the case since none of the other versions of the game have had standalone releases, and that wouldn’t make much sense.

Unfortunately, we don’t have much else to go by at this time other than this Korean rating, which will likely turn into a surprising announcement during E3 2018. If Nintendo is going to announce it, there will be plenty of time during its E3 2018 showcase, which takes place on June 12 at 12:00 PM ET.

Adding Fortnite to the Switch will have major ramifications for PUBG, which is still only available on Xbox One and PC, with updates coming much slowly to Xbox One. With Fortnite, players don’t have to wait nearly as long for new content or other goodies, and the versions have reached parity. It’ll be an interesting race to see what happens between both games, especially since PUBG seems to be experiencing something of a dwindling player count recently when compared to Fortnite’s ballooning stats.
