As you’ve no doubt already heard, Epic Games is holding the first official Fortnite tournament this year at E3 2018. It’d already be a huge event because of that fact, but there’s also another reason to take note: it’s going to have some pretty huge names on its guest list, and not just from the streaming community, if you can believe that.
The 2018 Fortnite Pro-Am will feature 50 pro players paired up with 50 celebrities, and they’ll all be facing off against each other. Before you get outraged, however, remember that it’s also for charity. They’ll be competing for winnings donated to the charity of their choice, with a prize pool of $3 million. Winners will be splitting $1 million between their favorite charities, and the rest of the money will go to charities chosen by the rest of those competing in the tournament.
The event has attracted several big names from the entertainment industry, such as Marshmello, Desiigner, Joel McHale, Pete Wentz, and Janina Gavankar. They’ll be playing alongside hot streamers like Ninja and Markiplier, which should no doubt attract some serious audience numbers.
