Devil May Cry 5 will be playable for the very first time next week at Gamescom 2018. Fans and industry members who attend the major gaming convention in Cologne, Germany next week will have the first opportunity in the world to check out the latest entry in the popular Capcom franchise. It was previously mentioned by Capcom that a demo might be ready in time and now we have confirmation.
Devil May Cry 5 Director Hideaki Itsuno confirmed this via Twitter recently. He stated that the demo version was just recently completed and that fans can look forward to checking it out at Gamescom 2018. We haven’t heard much about the game since it was unveiled earlier this summer at E3 2018. The title was exclusively revealed during Microsoft’s E3 press conference; a surprise given its history with PlayStation.
Not a ton is known about the game currently but what we do know is that Devil May Cry 5 will feature the return of Dante and Nero as playable characters in this latest hack-and-slash adventure from Capcom. It will take place several years after the events of Devil May Cry 2 and there will be a third playable character who is currently unknown.
For fans who were disappointed by the controversial DmC remake for the series that featured an alternate storyline, they will be happy to know that Devil May Cry 5 continues the original storylines of Dante and Nero from the first four games. This game will be releasing next year in Spring 2019 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
However, if you happen to be in Cologne, Germany next week at Gamescom 2018 during August 21 through the 25, you will have a chance to be among the first in the entire world to play Devil May Cry 5 with the playable demo. Make sure to stay tuned for future updates regarding this highly anticipated title here.
