One of the Triumphs associated with Destiny 2’s Revelry event involves generating 200 Orbs of Light in competitive activities. However, unforeseen technical issues meant that Bungie had to disable orb generation in most of those activities. Therefore, Bungie is drastically lowering the number of orbs needed to complete the Triumph.
Destiny 2 Competitive Verdant Light Triumph Changes
As Bungie noted in this weekly blog post, the increased rate of orb generations caused unforeseen issues with several activities. Specifically, the orb generations were triggering GUITAR errors which would disconnect players from their current activities. As a result, Bungie disabled orb generation in Gambit, Gambit Prime, Raids, and the Competitive Crucible playlist.
Several of the above activities are linked to the Revelry’s ‘Verdant Light: Competitive’ Triumph. The Triumph tasks players with generating 200 Orbs of Light through Gambit and Crucible PvP. However, due to the above changes, players’ only options for completing the Triumph are Quickplay, Rumble, and featured PvP playlists. To compensate for the changes, the number of orbs needed for the Triumph is being reduced from 200 to 20.
As Bungie also notes in its blog post, the change in required orb numbers won’t take immediate effect. Instead, the planned fix will go live after the Revelry event ends on May 7. Once the event is over, the Triumph should auto-complete for anyone who generated at least 20 orbs. If all other Revelry Triumphs were completed, this should also trigger the ‘Party Harder’ meta-Triumph.
The current state of Verdant Light: Competitive isn’t the only reason PvP players aren’t happy with the Revelry event. The powerful buffs granted via Reveler’s Tonic have all but destroyed any semblance of balance in the Crucible. You may only need to generate 20 orbs, but even that low number won’t be quick or easy to reach. Fortunately, you still have about a week before the event ends, so it’s far from impossible.
