It’s rare when we get a decent television series or film based off of an existing video game franchise; even the best adaptations are subpar at best, which is quite sad, to say the least. But since Netflix premiered their adaptation of Konami‘s Castlevania franchise last year, we finally have a more than adequate anime that truly portrays the gothic franchise in fantastic new light, giving us hope that maybe others can follow in Netflix’s footsteps and give us more amazing adaptations like this one.
The first amazing, albeit short, season of Castlevania premiered just last year with only a four-episode arc, but on the same day, Netflix renewed the action-packed series for a second eight-episode season that will be premiering on Oct 26, just in time for Halloween – perfectly fitting the tone that the series provides us with. You can check out the new trailer below that shows off Trevor Belmont, Dracula, and lots of killing – it has us very eager for the month of October.
The main gist of the plot is that a vampire by the name of Dracula takes revenge on the people of Wallachia for wrongfully accusing and murdering his wife for being a so-called witch. Dracula releases monsters and other scary creatures of the night onto the townspeople, attempting to kill every last one of the humans for the crime that they have committed. Trevor Belmont gets the cooperation of a magician and Dracula’s son to try to stop Dracula in his tracks, which you can assume leads to some crazy action-packed fight scenes that are just sensational and adrenaline-fueled.
The first season of Castlevania is available now on Netflix and look out for the second season once all eight episodes premiere on Oct 26 – only a few months away. Are you all excited for the show to come back? Let us know in the comments section below!
