When you think about popular PC shooters, Call of Duty is always one name that jumps into the fold. It’s right up there with games like Battlefield, of course, because the PC is one of the best place to play. That’s why it doesn’t exactly come as a surprise that Treyarch is putting more of a focus on the aspects of the PC version of Black Ops 4 than before, placing a larger team on the development of the PC version to make sure it’s tailor-made for the platform rather than just throwing it up for PC gamers and calling it a day.
The Quebec-based studio Beenox is working on the PC version, who previously had a hand with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered and Black Ops 3. But this time, Beenox is even more dedicated, especially since the game will be available via Blizzard’s Battle.net. With that said, this version is going to focus more on customization and optimization of controls over anything else, with a wide set of options for players to choose what works perfectly for them.
Beenox technical lead programmer Philip Troie explained it like this in a new video clip: “If you want to throw a grenade, you can choose between cooking it by holding the mouse button or as a toggle. So you can also click once to start to cook it and click twice to throw it.” Also, you can be sure that other important aspects like mouse speed and sensitivity won’t be ignored or thrown to the wayside, because they’re important to gamers.
It’s clear that this time around making sure PC players are happiest in their “natural habitat,” so to speak, since the game is such a big winner for those on the platform.
If you can’t wait to get your hands on Black Ops 4, it’s coming to all platforms, including PC, on October 12, 2018.
