Rejoice undead fans everywhere! It looks like Call Of Duty’s uber popular Zombies mode will indeed be returning in Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4.
Specifically, it appears that the official E3 Twitter account has made a big mistake and accidentally leaked Black Ops 4’s fan-favourite co-op Zombies mode ahead of Activision’s official reveal on May 17th.
As of writing, the tweet in question is still live and is as follows:

This pretty much confirms that the wave-based survival mode that pits you and up to 3 friends against swarms of the living dead will be included in Treyarch’s upcoming military shooter. The Zombies mode has been a stalwart staple of the franchise since its introduction in 2008’s Call Of Duty: World At War.
What’s interesting to note is the first question: “What’s lurking around the corner of Treyarch’s next Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies experience?” This hints at some sort of shake-up to the conventional Zombies formula. Will the new Zombies mode opt for a traditional “boots on the ground” style mode like Call Of Duty: WW2, or will it follow the more fast-paced, futuristic, exo suit-centric Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare? Or perhaps it will try to strike out into a completely new direction entirely?
With teases coming direct from Activision, like a handful of possible Multiplayer Perks and the fact that the team has invested “significant dedicated resources” into the PC version of their upcoming flagship FPS, what we do know for sure is that we’ll learn a lot more at the game’s official reveal on May 17th, which will hopefully put to bed many of the rumors that have been percolating recently.
