Bandai Namco’s Taiko no Tatsujin Fails to Get in the Top 40 UK Chart

Bandai Namco’s Taiko no Tatsujin is the fun-loving party game we all needed in our lives. Or is it? While we said that Namco’s Taiko No Tatsujin was a must buy, it doesn’t seem as though it has lived up to the hype. While it did face some criticism in the West due to it not coming with taiko sticks, was that really enough for it to not scrape the top 40 UK charts?

Taiko no Tatsujin Drum n’ Fun has only been out four days, so perhaps we shouldn’t have expected too much from it – but perhaps the real reason why it hasn’t managed to get into the charts is staring right at us.

That reason is Red Dead Redemption 2.

Taiko No Tasujin Top 40 UK

Not a Huge Loss for Bandai Namco

Of course, that doesn’t mean it’s all Red Dead Redemption 2’s fault. After all, games like Breath of the Wild and Grand Theft Auto V has been in the charts for so long that we’re unsure if they’ll ever leave. But let’s face it: Rockstar’s influence with a game like Red Dead Redemption 2 will be on everyone’s minds for a long time to come.

But it isn’t all bad news for Bandai Namco. Tekken 7 and Project Cars are both on the Top 40 UK list, meaning that even though Taiko No Tatsujin hasn’t managed to scrape its way there, at least they’ve got some games raking in the money. And who knows, maybe Taiko No Tatsujin, with all it’s exciting, anime and original songs, will manage to make its way into the chart sooner than we think? The possibilities are endless.

In other Bandai Namco news, it’s been confirmed that Shonen Jump fighting game, Jump Force, will be releasingĀ on February 15th. Be sure to take a look at he box art for the game, showing off Goku, Naruto, and Luffy too.
