After a leak that appeared to show off a new DLC expansion for Call of Duty: WWII, Activision and Sledgehammer Games have announced the upcoming third DLC for the game, and just as the leak predicted, it’s called United Front. It’s launching first for PlayStation 4 users as of June 26, and it’s bringing a cavalcade of content with it.
United Front comes with three new multiplayer maps, including Market Garden, Monte Cassino, and Stalingrad. Market Garden takes place against the backdrop of Operation Market Garden, an airborne operation during the European Theatre, and you’ll fight off the Axis as you try and keep control of an Allied mansion base. It’s set in the Netherlands, featuring tight-quarters combat with plenty of gunfights just waiting around every corner.
Monte Cassino is an Italian campaign that takes place on a monastery in the mountains, with plenty of places for snipers to hide in the cliffs. Finally, Stalingrad is based on the biggest part of the conflics of World War II throughout hstory, with two main bases and sniper nests for players to wrestle with control of the city.
There’s also a new War Mod mission: Operation Supercharge. You’ll follow the Allies as they airdrop into Tunisia into a village overrun by Nazis to reclaim supplies, and then blow up a bridge that’s important for transporting supplies and soldiers.
What would a new Call of Duty expansion be without new zombies content, though? The new Zombies map is The Tortured Path, with a mission for players to restore the rest of Emperior Barbarossa’s legendary sword at the lost forges of the ancient Thule. There’s plenty of new zombie action for you to digest in this new pack.
Looking forward to trying out the new DLC? It’ll be here next week, so batten down the hatches and spend some time playing Call of Duty: WWII before Black Ops 4 gets here. It’ll be available sooner than you know it.
