Could Grand Theft Auto VI finally be under development? What about L.A. Noire 2? Maybe Bully 2? Any of these (or none of them) could be possible, based on a recent jobs posting from the Australia-based developer Video Games Deluxe. One thing is certain, and that is that a new Rockstar Games open world VR project is on the way.
What Do We Know About the Upcoming Rockstar Games Open World Project?
Video Games Deluxe recently posted a jobs ad. According to that ad, the company needs people to help it develop a title in conjunction with Rockstar Games. That project is described as an open world AAA game with VR integrated.
You can view the posting on LinkedIn yourself. The text reads, “Having finished the critically well received L.A.Noire: The V.R. Case Files we are now gearing up for a new project, a AAA open world title in VR for Rockstar. 2020 marks our 7th year of working exclusively for Rockstar in Sydney and we are excited to taking on this ground breaking project. We have a number of job openings in our Sydney studio including Senior Programmers, Engine Programmer, Designer and Animator. If you are interested in one of these positions or would like two speak to someone who works here about VGD please get in touch.”
What could it mean? Honestly, it is hard to say. L.A. Noire 2 is probably the first guess that springs to mind for clear reasons. But it doesn’t seem like the most pragmatic investment of Rockstar’s resources at this time. In fact, it may or may not be a brand new game at all. It could be a new VR mode for a game that is already out there. So, we’ll have to wait and see what comes out of this collaboration. Check back with us in the future for more updates!
