In less than a week’s time, on the 12th of July, Ubisoft will be holding their Ubisoft Forward online showcase event. With E3 and other big gaming events cancelled, several major publishers have been holding online events of their own, and Ubisoft Forward is Ubisoft’s version of this. Watching the event won’t just give you a look at upcoming games however; you’ll actually be able to get Watch Dogs 2 on PC for free!
How You Can Get Watch Dogs 2 on PC for Free
Ubisoft today revealed that fans who watch the Ubisoft Forward event later this week will be able to claim a free copy of Watch Dogs 2 for PC. However, the window to do so will be somewhat limited. In order to claim your copy, you’ll need to log into your Uplay account; “anytime after Trackmania and before the end of the main show,” according to Ubisoft. Note that the Ubisoft Forward page, where you’ll be able to watch the event, has a login option at the top right. As such, you should be able to login to Uplay without pausing the show.
Ubisoft Forward is scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM BST / 12:00 PM PDT, and will be a 45-minute event. Like similar events in the last couple of months, it will be a pre-recorded stream. While details about what will feature in the showcase are scarce, Ubisoft has revealed a teaser trailer. Of course, Ubisoft is likely to focus heavily on Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, since that’s their next big game. However, they have also said that fans can expect to see content for both Watch Dogs: Legion and Hyper Scape too.
“See more from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla,” reads a recent statement from the studio; “Watch Dogs: Legion, Hyper Scape, and a few other surprises that will be unveiled during the stream”. Perhaps the biggest rumour circulating at present is that one of those surprises will be the official announcement of Far Cry 6. Recent rumours have suggested that the game will feature actor Giancarlo Esposito as the main villain, but that has yet to be confirmed. Fans may very well find out in a few days’ time, of course.
