Valorant Patch 1.02 has now gone live across all platforms, bringing with it the long-awaited launch of Valorant Rated; the game’s competitive mode. However, that wasn’t the only feature included in Patch 1.02 – the patch also includes a range of Agent updates too.
Valorant Patch 1.02 – All Agent Updates
The Agent who received the most attention in Valorant Patch 1.02 is Viper, who has received a series of small buffs to her abilities. Firstly, her Snake Bite ability will now make enemy players fragile for a short while. This ‘fragile’ effect is a debuff which causes all damage taken to be doubled. According to Riot, this was intended to help Viper provide more of an advantage to her team; “With Viper applying decay on her smokes, but only providing moderate chip damage on her area-damage skill, pushing through it was hard to punish. With Fragile, Viper’s team should have a big advantage on anyone if they fire on pushing enemies.”
Viper’s Toxic Screen will also now burn through walls, as players were finding it hard to use effectively. Finally, her Poison Orb activation cooldown has been increased from 5 seconds up to 6. Viper isn’t the only Agent to get a buff in Patch 1.02, however. Jett’s Blade Storm will now refresh when players use it to kill Phoenix during Run It Back. Additionally, Reyna’s Soul Orbs will spawn when she kills Phoenix during Run It Back too.
Finally, Patch 1.02 includes a few tweaks for Cypher, although it more falls into the realm of bug-fixing. Riot has fixed an issue where Spycam would block Spike defusal, as well as an issue where players were able to place a Cyber Cage on a Trapwire. Finally, Spycams will no longer be able to go through teleporter doors on Bind if a player places them on the frame from outside.
