Andrew Cashner Trade Brings MLB The Show 19 Debut for New Red Sox Pitcher
Andrew Cashner is now a member of the Boston Red Sox. With the All-Star break in the rearview mirror, Boston GM Dave Dombrowski has made it clear that this Red Sox squad needs to bolster its pitching staff if they want to entertain any ideas of repeating as World Series champions. Acquiring righty starter Andrew Cashner from Baltimore is a good start!

The Red Sox are hoping Andrew Cashner is one of those “under the radar” deals that helps propel them to the postseason.
Cashner will report to the Red Sox today, Sunday, July 14, and reportedly make his first start on Tuesday against the Blue Jays at Fenway Park, president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski said.

MLB The Show 19 isn’t waiting that long to put Cashner on the mound in a BoSox uniform! A Gameplay simulation is already available with Cashner in his new digs. The fifth spot in the rotation is something the Red Sox have been trying to strengthen all season. This is due to Nathan Eovaldi’s mid-April with a right elbow issue.
Cashner is much better than a No. 5, so this move should be a good one for the Sox.
Originally drafted by the Atlanta Braves back in 2005, Cashner has been sold to the Orioles in 2019. The hard-throwing right-hander is 9-3 on the season with a 3.83 ERA.
If Andrew Cashner performs even half as well as he did with the Baltimore Orioles, it will greatly bolster the Sox pitching woes. Look for Cashner’s player rating, and the Red Sox team rating to be adjusted as well in the next MLB The Show 19 roster update.
