MLB The Show 19: Tigers JaCoby Jones, Shane Greene Quietly Climbing Player Ratings

The Detroit Tigers are not having a great year. The bright spot for Tigers fans is that they have a ton of aspiring prospects with a lot of upside – including center-fielder JaCoby Jones. While Detroit has a lot of top-tier players ready to make the jump from Triple-A to the big leagues next season, Jones is already becoming a rising star.

JaCoby Jones rating jump

When you play on a losing team sometimes notoriety is tough to come by. Just ask JaCoby Jones. Jones may be going through a lot of growing pains, but that is just the nature of the beast.

After a slow start to 2019, Jones has been heating up at the plate and in the field. In fact, it seems he makes a great play in the outfield on a daily basis.

Jones’ latest brilliant play came against the Washington Nationals this past weekend. It was so outstanding that it earned him the Play of the Week award from MLB.com.

The notoriety hasn’t gone unnoticed by the MLB The Show crew as JaCoby Jones’ player rating has jumped from an 66 OVR to a 70. Keep it going JaCoby!

Greene All-Star worthy

Another diamond in the rough for the Tigers is closer Shane Greene. Greene was recently named to the 2019 All-Star team and for good reason.

He has been nearly perfect so far in his closing role for Detroit. In 31 appearances, Greene has an ERA of 0.87, 22 saves, and a WHIP of 0.839. That is pretty impressive.

Greene, who started the season with a 69 OVR has jumped to a Silver 75 OVR. At this pace, he may be looking at Gold status soon. Yes, the Tigers are down now. However, the future looks bright in Motown.
