One of the best things about MLB The Show is the way they constantly change right along with the current season. From Events to Moments, and everything in between, fans are always looking for more. The latest way gamers can earn freebies on MLB The Show 19 is through the ongoing Phenom Event – and the top prize is a Flashback Carlos Martinez card!
Carlos Martinez Flashback up for grabs
Gamers who are successful at completing the Phenom Event will earn a 2015 (83 OVR rated) breakout Flashback Carlos Martinez card.
Martinez has been one of the most solid pitchers in the game over the past five seasons. His overall record is a far cry from how great he has been since joining that St. Louis Cardinals.
His 2015 season was clearly his break on the scene. In 2015, Martinez finished with a 14-7 record and an ERA of 3.01. From that season on, opponents knew they were going to have their hands full when Carlos Martinez was on the mound.
What you need to know
The rules to Phenom Event are pretty straight forward and not too complex. The more wins you string together in the Phenom Event the more you cash in. I included the screenshot below to help with the simplicity of the rules and what players need to know.
To win the Carlos Martinez card you must rack-up four cumulative Event wins. However, you don’t have to stop there. Other player items will also be up for grabs by going on long win streaks. Prizes will be awarded to players who hit 3, 6, 9 and 12-game win streaks.
This event is all about youth. Future Stars and players under 25 only! The Phenom Event is free to enter and it will run through Tuesday, June 11 until 3 p.m. ET, Noon, PT.
