Battle Royale games have undoubtedly become a part of the gaming industry’s best interests. The games became a huge trend to follow so far this year. In fact, there was a period of time where video games had to be shipped with some sort of Battle Royale mode. As such, the Director of Final Fantasy XIV wants to create a Battle Royale game.
Final Fantasy XIV Director Wants to Create a Battle Royale
In an interview with Gamespot, Naoki Yoshida talked about loving the idea to work in a Battle Royale game. “”I would like to make a battle royale game. I have some ideas to do that,” Yoshida told GameSpot through a translator. “I have some ideas to make that type of game fun.” However, Yoshida didn’t say whether or not the Battle Royale idea would incorporate Final Fantasy characters.
He also would love to work on a new kind of MMO and to bring his creative influence for Diablo 4. “As an online game designer, I would like to make an MMORPG from scratch without any limitations or restrictions. Removing all those kind of restrictions, I would like to make one MMORPG that fits the current trend before I die. I would also like [to work on] Diablo 4.” Said Yoshida.
Unfortunately, those are only his ideas for the moment. Yoshida has stated that he has no plans in terms of leaving Final Fantasy XIV development anytime soon. However, he also seems to be rather keen on the idea of helping Blizzard create Diablo 4.
What do you think about the possibility of a Final Fantasy Themed Battle Royale game? Do you think Yoshida’s ideas can be accomplished at some point? What are your thoughts on Final Fantasy XIV? Let us know your thoughts on the VGR Forums and stay tuned for more news and updates.
