5 Characters That Should Appear In Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3

With the return of Marvel’s Ultimate Alliance franchise coming in 2019 to the Nintendo Switch, there are plenty of characters fans want to see join the roster of playable heroes and villains. Several excellent characters didn’t make it into the first two games or the recent announcement trailer, but there are plenty who deserve their time in the spotlight. Here are the top five characters from the Marvel universe that should make an appearance in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order.

Captain Marvel

Ultimate Alliance 3

The fact that Captain Marvel hasn’t yet been included in any previous Ultimate Alliance title is ludicrous on its own considering just how cool the character is. The hero formerly known as Ms. Marvel gained her powers of flight, strength, and energy manipulation from Kree technology, and has since used those powers for the force of good across the galaxy. With a film hitting theaters early next year, and Brie Larson in the titular role now would be the perfect time to make Captain Marvel a staple in the game’s roster.

Beast

Ultimate Alliance 3

One of the most quintessentially important members of the X-Men has been absent from the list of playable characters in previous titles, but this can all be rectified by adding Beast to the upcoming installment. Hank McCoy was one of the founding members of the X-Men and is a man whose intelligence rivals that of even Professor Xavier himself. Not only would his hyper agility and strength make for a fun heavy hitting character, but his genius level intellect, persistent charisma, and witty sense of humor would make for an excellent addition to the story.

The Punisher

Ultimate Alliance 3

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 will need more anti-heroes if it hopes to balance out its cast of characters, and the Marvel universe has no shortage of them in stock. Deadpool, decisively the most popular Marvel anti-hero, was present in Ultimate Alliance 2. The inclusion was fun indeed, but they left out another crucial anti-hero vastly different from the Merc with a Mouth: The Punisher. Frank Castle’s unceasing quest for revenge is much different than that of Deadpool’s, if only in their approach to brutal murder and outlook on life. A skilled fighter in both martial and ranged combat, the Punisher could be a versatile character who offers a more gritty aspect to the game.

Adam Warlock

Ultimate Alliance

Admittedly the least well-known character on this list, Adam Warlock’s affiliation with the Guardians of the Galaxy make him the perfect candidate for the upcoming title, seeing as how we already know the Guardians themselves will be present thanks to the announcement trailer. A natural and formidable foe for the Black Order’s leader Thanos, Warlock’s ability to go toe to toe with the god-like villain is nothing short of impressive. Through transmutation and the utilization of his restorative cocoon, the galactic death defyer has the ability to bring himself and others back to life. Besides his epic feats of resurrection, Adam Warlock’s powers of super strength, speed, durability, as well as energy manipulation and projection would make him a perfectly viable caster in-game.

Emma Frost

Ultimate Alliance 3

Rounding out the list of characters who should make an appearance in The Black Order is one of the X-Men’s prime antagonists, Emma Frost. Before joining forces with Professor X’s band of mutants she had a lengthy and relatively successful career opposing their efforts. Using her Omega Class telepathy she has stood her ground against some of the most powerful telepaths in the Marvel universe such as Jean Grey and the Professor himself. Paired with her top-tier telepathic power is the ability to turn her flesh to diamond, transmuting her organic matter into a near-impervious shield, thus granting her incredible strength and various immunities. These incredible psionic and physical powers would make Frost a force to be reckoned with in the game, just as she is in the comics.
