New Splatoon 2 Splatfest Coming this Weekend

Following the release of Nintendo Switch Online this past Tuesday, a new Splatfest in Splatoon 2 is coming very soon.  The Splatfest starts tomorrow at 9:00 PM P.T. and goes until 9/22 9:00 PM P.T.

This time around, the theme will be retro vs. modern. As cool as the theme sounds, this Splatfest will be different from previous ones. Rather than having split into Solo and Team modes, the new modes will be Normal and Pro.

In normal mode, you can play by yourself or with friends and the total amount you inked is added to the win bonus that determines your clout. However, in Pro mode, you play by yourself and the clout is based off how well you do against other teams.

Additionally, Bonus 10k Battles will come into matchmaking that adds on a 10k multiplier at the end of the match. To make things even crazier, a 100k Battle match is added in, but it’ll be more rare. These will surely add some variety to each match and make leveling up a little easier.

The final Splatfest results will be determined by the Normal and Pro clout votes. If you want to partake in Splatoon 2 and the Splatfest, you’ll need a subscription to Nintendo Switch Online. If you don’t want to spend money on it, there’s a seven day free trial of the online service offered. Additionally, Splatoon 2 is one of the very few games confirmed that won’t support cloud saves. Now that the Splatfest is happening tomorrow and version 4.0 is out, it’ll be interesting to see where the game goes from here.
