Former Seoul Dynasty Tank Player Miro Potentially Retiring From OWL
Former Seoul Dynasty tank player Gong “Miro” Jin-hyuk said on a stream last week that he is going to be taking a break from professional Overwatch and start streaming instead.
“I’ve decided to go streamer,” he said, according to a translation from Twitter user @gatamchun. “I thought about it a lot, discussed it with people. Some people said it was a good idea, other people asked me if I wouldn’t have any regrets, after all I’ve done in pro-gaming. I want to give myself a pat on the back for what I’ve done so far.”

However, Miro said he is still unsure about whether or not he’ll return to the Overwatch League or play professionally again.
Miro had been playing with most of the Seoul Dynasty roster since 2016. With the team, which was once called Lunatic-Hai, he earned multiple championship titles, including at OGN Overwatch Apex’s second and third seasons, as well as the OGN Seoul Cup Super Match. Sadly, the Overwatch League’s inaugural season didn’t go as well for Dynasty, who placed eighth in the regular season.
Miro was released from Seoul Dynasty earlier this month, along with Moon “Gido” Gi-do and Choi “Wekeed” Seok-woo. Heo “Gambler” Jin-woo was also moved from the main roster to a streaming role with the organization.
Since Miro’s announcement, his fellow former teammate, Kim “KuKi” Dae-kuk, was signed by Los Angeles Valiant. The team announced the transfer on Thursday via press release.
“The 27-year-old was part of the main tank rotation for the Dynasty during the inaugural season of the Overwatch League,” a Valiant representative wrote. “Prior to joining Seoul, KuKi played for MVP Space in [OGN Overwatch] Apex.”
KuKi joins a Valiant tank line that consists of Indy “SPACE” Halpern and Koo “Fate” Pan-seung. After releasing Stefano “Verbo” Disalvo, Seb “numlocked” Barton, and Finnjorn “Finnsi” Jonasson, Los Angeles’ roster now has 10 players.
Meanwhile, Seoul Dynasty is now down to six players. The Overwatch League’s off season signing period is still bustling, but right now only the eight new expansion teams are able to sign free agents. Trades, however, are still ongoing between founding teams.
Starting Oct. 8, the original 12 OWL teams will be able to sign free agents, and all of the league’s teams must have a minimum of eight players signed by Dec. 1.
There has still been no announcement regarding the league’s second season start date, but more information is expected in the next few months.
