If you didn’t get enough Dark Souls news this week, then we have even more for you. Rumors are circulating now that Dark Souls 2 is reportedly coming to Nintendo Switch at some point. The sequel to the highly anticipated Dark Souls Remastered is supposedly in development right now for the hybrid console and is set to release in the future.
The Dark Souls 2 Nintendo Switch rumor was reported on by Twitter user LeakyPandy. According to them, a source connected to Bandai Namco has revealed that, when questioned about other Dark Souls titles coming to Switch, the second entry in the series is currently in development as a port. There is currently no word on Dark Souls 3.
Apparently, work on the upcoming Dark Souls Remastered for Nintendo Switch is being used to catapult development on the sequel and “maximize efficiency.” Interestingly enough, these Dark Souls 2 Nintendo Switch rumors from LeakyPandy corroborate with reports from Kotaku UK from the beginning of this year that correctly reported the announcement of Dark Souls Remastered.
In that same leak, Kotaku UK also revealed that one of its sources claimed that all three Dark Souls games are planned to come to Nintendo Switch eventually. We most likely won’t receive any official announcements from Bandai Namco until after or near the release of Dark Souls Remastered later this fall.
As we recently reported, Dark Souls Remastered is coming to Nintendo Switch on the same day as the Dark Souls Trilogy on PS4 and Xbox One. According to LeakyPandy, their sources also claim that fans shouldn’t be concerned or upset that the trilogy isn’t coming to Switch currently. Apparently, that is seen as simply a repackaging and not a new release that is skipping the Nintendo Switch entirely. Stay tuned here to see if any of these rumors become true.
