Telltale Games, the studio known for their adventure games like The Wolf Among Us and Tales From the Borderlands, has announced that the complete first season of The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series will be launching on the Nintendo Switch eShop next week on Aug 28 for $24.99 (via Gematsu). Telltale has already released the first episode of the final season of The Walking Dead on the Nintendo Switch just this week and Telltale promises that the other two completed seasons will also soon be available on Nintendo’s hybrid console.
Note that this port of the Walking Dead is the one that was part of the Telltale Series Collection that released on other consoles, which means it comes included with the add-on story, 400 days, as well as “substantial visual and performance enhancements over previous editions.”
Telltales The Walking Dead tells the story of Lee, who finds himself in the middle of zombie-infested Georgia, where he runs into a young girl named Clementine. The two of them forge a bond unlike any other and embark on a journey towards survival that the two of them would never forget. Making choices, solving puzzles, and staying alive is the name of the game in Telltale’s adaption of the comic book-turned-television show phenomenon.
Before the end of the year, Telltale also plans to release The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series – Season Two and The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series – A New Frontier for the Switch as well, giving Telltale fans access to the entirety of the series on Nintendo’s hybrid system.
