Since Nintendo announced that Luigi’s Mansion would be coming to the 3DS in 2018 as a straight-up port, fans of the Nintendo Switch had one question to ask: “why not release it on the Switch?” Nintendo has their reasons for releasing this cult classic of a GameCube game on the – now seven years old – Nintendo 3DS. Maybe it’s because of the millions of people who own one or maybe because the sequel to Luigi’s Mansion, Dark Moon, also appeared on the 3DS – who knows? Anyways, let’s just be happy that we will soon have another way to experience this haunted quest all over again, because Luigi’s Mansion will be launching on Oct 19, just a few days before Halloween – perfect.
If you missed out on the initial reveal trailer for Luigi’s Mansion on 3DS, then here’s that trailer just for you:
The 3DS version of Luigi’s Mansion is pretty much just how you remember it, but with some added features that make it more accessible than ever. Instead of having to open up the main menu, you’ll be able to take a look at the mansion map on the bottom touch-screen, saving you some time and headaches. If you’re up to the challenge, you’ll also be able to try your might at a new boss rush mode, allowing Luigi to face his fears one after another – sounds like a dream come true for our timid hero, does it not?
You’ll be able to check out Luigi’s Mansion once it releases for the 3DS on Oct 19. Even though Luigi seems to be dead, thanks to the most recent Smash Bros.-focused Nintendo Direct, the guy seems okay, at least when it comes to the ghost-busting Luigi that we know and love. As for Luigi being okay in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, all cards are off the table.
