It’s been about a year since the sequel to the 2014 dungeon crawler was announced for the Nintendo 3DS. Persona Q2 mixes up the cast of past Persona titles and throws them into an Etrian Odyssey-esque JRPG that serves as a crossover between characters from Persona 3, Persona 4, and even the most recent of the bunch, Persona 5.
Atlus has released the first official Japanese trailer for the epic crossover which shows off the colorful cast of characters and also reveals the Japanese release date of Nov 29, 2018. Atlus has not confirmed a Western release just yet, but like every other Atlus game, we’re sure it’ll come stateside soon enough. It would be strange to get a brand-new 3DS game in the year 2019, but Nintendo has confirmed that they will be continuing to support the handheld device until then (and beyond), so more big releases like this one are very likely. You can watch the new trailer below:
Atlus has also given us a proper subtitle for the upcoming RPG which is Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth. This isn’t the only Persona spin-off currently in development over at Atlus, Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight and Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight are both planned to release in 2019 for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. Instead of your typical turn-based style of gameplay, these two upcoming titles are rhythm-based and lets you choose your favorite tracks from the Persona series to dance to with the main cast of characters, aiming for that high score.
Are you guys excited for Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth to come to the Nintendo 3DS? Are you still holding out hope for a Western localization announcement soon?
