The Culling 2 Has Just Released and It’s a Big Ol’ Mess; Developer “in Need of Soul Searching”

With the massive popularity of Battle Royale-style of games like PUBG and now Fortnite, it seems that everyone is trying to get in on the action and grab onto the success of the genre any way they can. The team over at Xaviant have recently released their take on the Battle Royale genre with their new title, The Culling 2. With fifty contestants dropping in and competing for glory, it’s up to the player to be number one by surviving using so-called brutal melee combat system. Of course, it sounds very similar to other Battle Royale games, but this time around, The Culling 2 is just plain bad and there is literally nobody playing it, and it spells problems for the development team.

What’s been weird about the launch of The Culling 2, besides the rare “very negative” review score on Steam and the fact that nobody is playing online is that the developer’s Twitter account seems to be making fun of themselves for launching a terrible game. They are very much aware that there are problems with the launch and the team over at Xaviant are just taking it all in and laughing at themselves instead of trying to remedy the issues that The Culling 2 seems to be facing.

These tweets come from this past week as well as the launch day for The Culling 2:

As you can see, even the developers themselves are mocking the not-so-successful launch of their take on the popular Battle Royale genre. According to PCGamer, as of today, there was one lone person playing online on Steam, which is just plain sad. Like, what is this one guy doing by himself? For a game that can be played with up to 50 people, you would think that at least 50 people would be playing, but lo and behold.

Have you guys tried playing The Culling 2? What do you think about this whole situation? Let us know in the comments section below!
